I, the undersigned, are aware that mountain biking involves risks and involves inherent dangers.
I agree to accept responsibility for any damage of any kind whatsoever, bodily, material or moral, breakage, loss or theft that I may suffer or that I may cause to others.
I waive all claims against L’Abbaye d'Oka Inc., its directors, employees, employees, agents and volunteers and release them from all responsibility.
I am fully aware that mountain biking can result in falls, collisions and other incidents that can cause minor to serious injury. The lesions can affect the head, neck, back, spine, legs, or any other part of the body or equipment. I am aware that the risks surrounding mountain biking can lead to paralysis or prove to be potentially fatal and I accept them with full knowledge of the facts.
I have read the rules of conduct for L’Abbaye d'Oka Inc. and I agree to abide by them. I understand that the risk of injury can be reduced by carefully following the rules of conduct and respecting the signs at L’Abbaye d'Oka Inc.
In the event of an accident, resources will be deployed as quickly as possible, taking into account the climatic conditions, the distances to be covered, the traffic and the condition of the terrain. The L’Abbaye d'Oka Inc. cannot guarantee the deadlines for the delivery of emergency and / or first aid services.
We recommend that you obtain accident and injury insurance from your insurance advisor in order to obtain adequate protection in the event of an accident.
I have read and understood each paragraph of this disclaimer.
Wear protective gear for your safety at all times on the trails. Wearing a helmet, gloves, elbow pads and knee pads is mandatory.
Locate the geolocation tags. . Several numbered tags are present on the site. These beacons are combined with geodetic points allowing first responders to locate you. In the event of any accident, including a fall with an injury, it is important to mention the geolocation terminal number to the first responders you will call. That way they will be able to locate and rescue you.
Drive on open trails. It is important to respect the trail closure indication and not to drive off marked trails in order to avoid damage to the environment.
Do not use the trails on rainy days and for the next 24 hours, or when the soil is too wet. Driving on a wet trail is prohibited to avoid excessive erosion of the trails. The quality of our trails and our environmental consideration are priority aspects and compliance with these rules is essential and mandatory under penalty of eviction. You can consult the FB page of trails at the Abbaye d’Oka to find out the conditions of the trails.
Respect wildlife and the environment. The site of the Abbaye d’Oka is made up of an exceptional flora unique in Quebec. The cohabitation of bikes with vegetation and fauna must be harmonious in order to protect this environment. We are counting on you.
Control your bike and respect your limits. Drive slowly on busy trails so as not to endanger the safety of other users as well as your own. It is important to consult the difficulty level of the trails before your departure and to venture into a difficulty level that you can control. A beginner will not be out of place on a difficult trail and the opposite is also true.
Be courteous to everyone you meet. When you meet other users on the trails, it’s important to announce your presence and slow down to avoid accidents.
Respect the hiking trails. There are walking trails at L’Abbaye d’Oka. While we try to avoid bikes and walkers crossing each other, it is important to remember that cyclists must give way to walkers when meeting.
