I waive all claims against L’Abbaye d'Oka Inc., its directors, employees, employees, agents and volunteers and release them from all responsibility.

I am fully aware that mountain biking can result in falls, collisions and other incidents that can cause minor to serious injury. The lesions can affect the head, neck, back, spine, legs, or any other part of the body or equipment. We recommend that you obtain accident and injury insurance from your insurance advisor in order to obtain adequate protection in the event of an accident.

I have read and understood each paragraph of this disclaimer.

  1. Wear protective gear for your safety at all times on the trails. Wearing a helmet, gloves, elbow pads and knee pads is mandatory.

  2. Locate the geolocation tags. . Several numbered tags are present on the site. These beacons are combined with geodetic points allowing first responders to locate you. In the event of any accident, including a fall with an injury, it is important to mention the geolocation terminal number to the first responders you will call. That way they will be able to locate and rescue you.

  3. Drive on open trails. It is important to respect the trail closure indication and not to drive off marked trails in order to avoid damage to the environment.

  4. Do not use the trails on rainy days and for the next 24 hours, or when the soil is too wet. Driving on a wet trail is prohibited to avoid excessive erosion of the trails. The quality of our trails and our environmental consideration are priority aspects and compliance with these rules is essential and mandatory under penalty of eviction. You can consult the FB page of trails at the Abbaye d’Oka to find out the conditions of the trails.

  5. Respect wildlife and the environment. The site of the Abbaye d’Oka is made up of an exceptional flora unique in Quebec. The cohabitation of bikes with vegetation and fauna must be harmonious in order to protect this environment. We are counting on you.

  6. Control your bike and respect your limits. Drive slowly on busy trails so as not to endanger the safety of other users as well as your own. It is important to consult the difficulty level of the trails before your departure and to venture into a difficulty level that you can control. A beginner will not be out of place on a difficult trail and the opposite is also true.

  7. Be courteous to everyone you meet. When you meet other users on the trails, it’s important to announce your presence and slow down to avoid accidents.

  8. Respect the hiking trails. There are walking trails at L’Abbaye d’Oka. While we try to avoid bikes and walkers crossing each other, it is important to remember that cyclists must give way to walkers when meeting.

Discover the trails

The Abbaye d’Oka is located in a micro-climate near the Oka National Park and Lac des Deux-Montagnes. During your bike tours, you will have access to an exceptional site with breathtaking panoramas.

Over the years, Cistercian monks have cultivated and planted several species of plants and trees that you will only see at the Abbaye d’Oka site.

For more than a decade, several passionate volunteers and the new owner have invested in the Abbaye d’Oka site in order to offer mountain bikers exceptional trails. This site, originally modest, has become a destination of choice for all fans of the sport, with more than 30 kilometers of trails less than 40 minutes from Montreal.

In fact, since our acquisition in May 2018, we have done many improvements, including setting up beacons to preserve the environment and the uniqueness of the Abbaye d’Oka trails.

In order to maintain the quality of the trails and their extremely rare vegetation, we have implemented entrance fees and parking fees which will be required as of May 2020. These revenues will help us maintain the trails of the Abbaye d’Oka and the purchase of eco-responsible equipment which we hope will make your visit unforgettable and safe.
